There have been much talk over time how to revitalise the old part of the Pialba business district. I individually believe there is one fundamental problem that needs addressing. We need to have a suburb called Hervey Bay City which incorporates the CBD area. At present the CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT lies within the region of Pialba & perimeter CBD in Uraween, therefore confusing many outsiders on where the CBD is. It is additionally hard for businesses to brand themselves on a state, intrastate or international level when they write there address down as Pialba, meaning nothing at all outside the region. The location has spent millions of dollars branding metropolis as a destination, but there is no actual part of metropolis called Hervey Bay, we only legally have the Bay of Hervey Bay. CBD Isolate
In the new age of technology it is extremely important to obtain a clear brand away in industry place, because consumers are now doing almost all of their research via internet with search engines like google such as Google. Someone resting in Sydney looking to work in Hervey Gulf isn’t going to search for a suburb such as Pialba; they recognize the brand name of Hervey Bay, just as they might type in Maryborough or Brisbane.
The concern goes way beyond normal branding, it gets resembled in property magazines& websites that show property principles for all different suburbia in around the area, but there is no suburb of Hervey Gulf. Many Weather maps avoid recognise our area, look at many of the state and national magazines; they bypass Hervey Gulf in their maps, even though many towns with far smaller populations are shown. A few of the evening media weather maps do the same. Go to many search engines for travel, such as Google maps, RACQ, and the location of metropolis differs and you do not get a clear or steady location of where the CBD is. It will not exist beyond council’s town planning scheme.
As someone who works within the CBD will not a lot of commercial business state wide & interstate, it’s a source of regular confusion and very difficult to get exact statistics to reflect CENTRAL BUSINESS DISTRICT sales, populations, values and so forth It is also hard to make clear to anyone interstate there is no CBD suburban area, suburbia and part of Pialba or Uraween covers the CBD.
